Winter Closure Refresh: What You Can Finish in Six Weeks Using Stocked Lines Only
A closed-season refresh works when the scope matches the stock lead time. What fits a six-week winter closure, what does not, and the order dates if you close in November.

A six-week winter closure fits any refresh that uses stocked lines, because stocked items ship in two to four weeks. It does not fit custom case goods, custom upholstery or made-to-order textiles, which need eight to fourteen weeks or more. Decide the scope by lead time first, then by budget.
Mid-October is when seasonal hotels in Cyprus and Greece start planning the closed months. The mistake we see most is a wish list written by room, then ordered as one programme. The stocked half arrives on time and the made-to-order half lands after reopening.
What can a six-week winter refresh include?
Count back from the day you want to start installing, not from the day you reopen. Stocked categories leave our distribution network within two to four weeks of order confirmation for Cyprus, Greece and the Gulf. Add delivery scheduling and a week of buffer, and a stocked order placed now is comfortable for a closure that starts in four to five weeks.
- Electronics and small appliances: kettles, hair dryers, minibar fridges and televisions. Landed in two to four weeks, install in minutes per room.
- Bathroom accessories and mirrors: the items guests notice and reviews mention first, and the quickest visible upgrade per euro.
- Housekeeping equipment: trolleys, vacuum equipment and linen carts. These cost little, improve turnaround at once and need no installation.
- Stocked towels, robes and bed linen: four to eight weeks landed, so order at the start of the closure planning, not the end. Our towel guide covers what to specify.
- Mattresses from stocked ranges: six to ten weeks landed, so they only fit if ordered about now.
What will not fit, and what to do instead?
Custom case goods land in fourteen to twenty-two weeks, custom upholstery in twelve to eighteen, and curtains and soft furnishings in eight to fourteen. None of these completes inside a six-week closure unless it was ordered in the summer. If a made-to-order item is essential, you have three options.
- Switch to a stocked equivalent. Stock case goods land in six to ten weeks, which is the difference between this winter and next. Browse the bedroom catalogue before you commit to a custom drawing.
- Phase it. Refresh soft goods and fittings now, and hold the made-to-order items for the next closed window or an off-peak week. The mechanics are in our guide to phasing a renovation room by room.
- Pull the order date forward and accept the risk. If the item is ordered this week and the factory holds its dates, it may land in time. Do not build the reopening plan on it.
What does the order timeline look like?
Take a closure that starts on 16 November, 34 days from today. Stocked electronics and housekeeping equipment ordered by 19 October land four weeks later, on the first day. Stocked towels and linen ordered this week land within eight weeks, by 8 December. Stocked mattresses ordered this week land within ten, by 22 December. A six-week closure ends on 28 December, so all three fit, but only if the orders go out now.
Which rooms and items first?
With limited time and budget, rank rooms by what guests complain about, not by age. A seven-year-old room with a worn mattress and a tired bathroom outranks a ten-year-old room that reviews rarely mention. Our replacement-cycle guide gives the usual cycles: soft goods three to five years, case goods seven to ten.
- Replace bedding, towels and mattresses in the oldest sleeping rooms first.
- Fix every item that breaks daily: kettles, hair dryers, mirrors, shower fittings.
- Leave decorative changes to the end of the list. They add little before a reopening.
Winter closure refresh: quick answers
A refresh using only stocked lines can be done within a six-week closure, because stocked items ship in two to four weeks and install quickly. Anything custom, such as bespoke case goods or upholstery, needs eight to fourteen weeks or more and will not complete inside the same window unless ordered months earlier.
